Volunteer Organization
Individual Station 9 volunteer members function in the capacity of a volunteer within the structure of the MCFR organization once he/she has met the requirements and standards for membership. Upon acceptance for membership, they are eligible to receive basic and advanced training, which qualifies them to serve their community and an opportunity to gain valuable experience should they decide to pursue a career in the fire service. Once qualified, volunteers are eligible to respond to emergency scenes, and provide service under the direction of departmental officers.
Station 9 has a Volunteer Station Captain who serves as a spokesperson for the volunteer members, and who is responsible for recruitment and retention of volunteer firefighters. He/she is also responsible for planning and scheduling volunteer support and firefighter training; coordination of recording keeping, and review and validation of volunteer activity reports.
