Gaelan Patrick Jones was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He graduated from the University of Florida in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications, earning Cum Laude honors. Gaelan went on to graduate from Florida State University College of Law in 2015, where he served as Intramural Co-Chair for the Moot Court Team. Despite numerous complaints from his friends and family in Gainesville, Gaelan is an avid Seminoles fan.
He has lived in the Florida Keys full-time since 2017, where his legal practice has focused primarily on public service; first as an Associate Government Attorney for the law firm Vernis & Bowling, as Assistant School Board Attorney for the Monroe County School District, and in his current position as an Assistant County Attorney.
Outside of his professional life, Gaelan is passionate about the outdoors, regularly engaging in activities such as camping, kayaking, and hiking. He also enjoys building custom PCs in his spare time.
Mr. Jones represents the County's Risk Management Department, Medical Examiner, and Public Records.
