The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for a bridge improvement project over Cow Key Channel Bridge.
PROJECT DETAILS: Replacing sections of the bridges: Deck and Beams
ESTIMATED PROJECT COST: $4.7 million
PROJECT DATES: Work is expected to begin April 2020 and last about eight
months. Please note that the construction dates are
subject to change.
MUNICIPALITIES IN PROJECT AREA: Monroe County and City of Key West
POSSIBLE EFFECTS DURING CONSTRUCTION: Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community.
MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC: Vehicular and pedestrian detours will be required for
bridge improvements. Eastbound and westbound traffic will shift between bridges, while construction work is underway on the other.
